Planting Churches Among the Desperately Poor

Home Page

We believe that the local church is the God ordained institution and most effective tool for fulfilling the Great Commission.  We also believe that the Body of Christ has a responsibility to minister to the needs of the poor.  This also is done best by the local church. Therefore, Living Bread Ministries is planting churches among the desperately poor.  Often these communities have no local church because they have very little to give in support of the church.  In spite of their poverty, we have found that our church plants are becoming more self-sufficient each year as the Lord continues to change lives for His glory.

Currently, we are working in Porto Alegre, which is the least evangelized major city in Brazil.  Only 0.3% of the population is evangelical.  Since beginning LBM six years ago we have successfully planted five churches and are beginning the sixth in July 2010.

Our vision is to plant 1000 churches among the poor and needy with each one ministering to the needs of its community. Planting churches that are a beacon of hope to the hopeless is our passion. Will you join our ministry team and help make that vision a reality.
