The Brazilian Church is Capturing the Vision

At the end of May the leadership team of Living Bread Brazil (MPV) as well as each of our church planters attended the 78th annual meeting of the Rio Grande do Sul state convention of the Brazilian Baptist Convention (BBC). It was a great time of encouragement to them all, especially when they were invited to join the BBC church planters on stage so that they could all be prayed over. [READ MORE]

Life Among the Poor in Northeast Brazil

This is a very moving testimony from a young woman who grew up in Cabrobo, Brazil. She shares what life is like among the poor in this small city in Northeast Brazil. She was able to escape poverty and build a life for herself and her son in the United States. Our church plant among the urban poor in the community of Planalto continues to grow. Through youth ministry, free English classes, guitar lessons, and sports ministry we are impacting the youth throughout the community. Church Plant Update - Torres

Things are going well at our church plant in the city of Torres in southern Brazil. The church is ministering in a comprehensive way in their community. They have Sunday school and two worship services on Sundays and they have in home prayer and worship services on Wednesdays. Our church plant in Vila Safira had a difficult 2012. The founding pastor had to resign the church which was a difficult blow to the people. By God's grace the church endured and has come to love their new pastor and his family. Ministry Update - Torres

Last February we launched our church plant in the community of Guarita in the city of Torres in southern Brazil. Pastor Artenio, remembers how suspicious the people were when they first arrived. They wondered how long he and his family would stay and serve the community. He says the people hold the view that good things only last for a short time in their lives.
